Umrah in Hadiths

The prophet(pbuh) said: ”Voyage is to these three masjids only for worship: Masjid al-Haram, Masjid an-Nabawi and Masjid al-Aqsa”

”The performers of the hajj and umrah are the guests of Allah. If they pray to Him, He will respond, if they ask forgiveness, He will forgive.”

When the Prophet(pbuh) was asked whether umrah is obligatory(wajib)He replied ”No but it is better for you if you perform umrah”

”Alternate between hajj and umrah. Because hajj and umrah rid one of poverty and minor sins just as the blacksmith’s bellows remove all impuruties from metals like iron, gold and silver.”

Hajar al-Asvad and Maqam al-Ibrahim are among the jewels descended from the heaven. Allah(s.w.t) is like prayer. Yet, you may speake during this ritual. Then whoever speaks during circumambulation, let him speak only what is good.

No Muslim utters talbiyah but that whatever stones, trees and mud on his both right and left utter talbiyah with him, as far as the land is cut from here and there.

Umrah during Ramadan al-sharif is comparable to hajj (in another account, to a hajj performed with the Prophet.

Aishe(r.a)narrates; The Prophet(pbuh) said”Circumambulating the house of Allah, performing Sa’y between Safa and Marwah and stoning the devil have been ordained to dhikr Allah(swt)

Whoever visits me in Medina, expecting its reward from Allah(swt) I will be his witness and intercessor on the day of judgment.

Hadithes About Salat

Abu Hurairah narrated that :Allah’s Messenger said: “Indeed for (the time of) Salat (there is a) beginning and an end. The beginning of the time for the Zuhr prayer is when the sun passes the zenith, and the end of its time is when the time for Asr enters. The beginning of the time for the Asr [prayer] is when its time enters, and the end of its time is when the sun yellows (turns pale). The beginning of the time of Maghrib is when the sun as set, and the end of its time is when the twilight has vanished (i.e., the horizon is invisible because of darkness). The beginning of the time for Isha, the later one, is when the horizon has vanished, and the end of its time is when the night is at its half. The beginning of the time for Fajr is when Fajr begins, and its end is when the sun rises.”

Abu Dharr narrated that :the Prophet said: “O Abu Dharr! There will be leaders after me who cause the Salat to die; so perform the Salat during its time. If you pray (with them) during its time, then that will be voluntary Salat for you, if not, then you will have attained your Salat.”

Ibn Abbas narrated:”The Prophet only performed the two rak’ah (units of prayer) after Asr because some wealth came to him which distracted him from the two rak’ah after Zuhr, so he prayed them after Asr, then he did not repeat that.”

Zuhd And Softening of Hearts

Allah’s messenger prophet Muhammad (saw) said hadithes about zuhd and softening of hearts.

Anas b. Malik reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:Three things follow the bier of a dead man. Two of them come back and one is left with him: the members of his family, wealth and his good deeds. The members of his family and wealth come back and the deeds alone are left with him.

Abu Huraira reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:One who makes efforts (for earning to be spent) on a widow and the destitute is like a striver in the cause of Allah, and I think he also said: He is like one who constantly stands for prayer and observes fast without breaking it.

Mahmud b. Labid reported that ‘Uthman b. ‘Affan decided to rebuild the mosque (of Allah’s Apostle in Medina) but the people did not like this idea and they wished that it should be preserved in the same (old) form. Thereupon he (Hadrat ‘Uthman) said:I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who builds a mosque for Allah, Allah would build for him (a house) in Paradise like it.

Ibn Abbas reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:If anyone wants to have his deeds widely publicised, Allah will publicise (his humiliation). And if anyone makes a hypocritical display (of his deeds) Allah will make a display of him.

Hadithes

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said:Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says: Fasting is Mine and it is I who give reward for it. [A man] gives up his sexual passion, his food and his drink for my sake. Fasting is like a shield, and he who fasts has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. The change in the breath of the mouth of him who fasts is better in Allah’s estimation than the smell of musk. It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim, Malik, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah).

On the authority of Abu Harayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said:Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: Spend (on charity), O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you. It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim).

On the authority of son of Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), among the sayings he related from his Lord (glorified and exalted be He) is that He said:Allah has written down the good deeds and the bad ones. Then He explained it [by saying that] he who has intended a good deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as from ten good deeds to seven hundred times, or many times over. But if he has intended a bad deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed. It was related by al-Bukhari and Muslim.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: Pride is my cloak and greatness My robe, and he who competes with Me in respect of either of them I shall cast into Hell-fire. It was related by Abu Dawud (also by Ibn Majah and Ahmad) with sound chains of authority. This Hadith also appears in Muslim in another version.

Oneness of Allah ( Tawheed)

Narrated Mu`adh bin Jabal:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “O Mu`adh! Do you know what Allah’s right upon his slaves is?”

I said, “Allah and his apostle know best.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “To worship him (Allah) alone and to join none in worship with him (Allah). Do you know what their right upon him is?” I replied, “Allah and his apostle know best.”

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Not to punish them (if they do so).

A hadith of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh)

Narrated İbn Umar;

Allah’s Messenger Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: Islam is based on the following five principles:

1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger.

2. To offer the compulsory congregational prayers dutifully and perfectly.

3. To pay Zakat.

4. To perform Hajj.

5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.
