The Importance of Hz.Maryam in Islam

When Hz.Maryam was born, Zechariah (a.s), was entrusted with his care and supervision by Allah Ta’ala. In spite of this, Hz.Maryam was provided with sustenance by Allah by sending basic necessities to him in a wonderful way. (Al-Imran, 33-37) Zakariya (a.s) Hz.Maryam gave herself to worship in the masjid of ‘ prophet Zakariya.Hazrat Maryam is one of the servants of Allah has specially chosen, cleansed her soul and invited her to his worship (Al-Imran, 42-43).

Hazrat Maryam has closed herself in a private room in the masjid away from people. One day, Allaah sent Gabriel (a.s) to Hazrat Maryam. She fears Gabriel, who appears to her in the form of a human being, and takes refuge in Allah from doing evil.

Gabriel (a.s), explaining the inner side of the incident, states that he is the messenger of Allah and was sent to give good news of a child. Thereupon the Hazrat Maryam in amazement “How can I have a child even though no human has touched me and I am not a lewd woman?”

Gabriel (a.s) also responds to this call by saying: “Yes it is. My Lord says: he is very easy for me. Thus did we appreciate him in order to make him a miracle for people and a mercy from us. This already (in eternity) provision.” (Maryam, 19/16-21; Ali-Imran, 3/45-47)

She becomes pregnant with Jesus. It is impossible to explain this situation, which will be met with repentance by his environment. For this reason, she would rather leave mosque and retire to a place far away from everyone. (Maryam, 19/22) The Maryam lives in a place far from society. When Mary is in labor while she is pregnant, she takes refuge under a palm tree on the spot.

Along with the pains of childbirth, the fears of repentance have also increased so much that this anxiety made her say, “I wish I had died before this and been forgotten.” At this point, Gabriel (a.s), Who rushes to her aid by the command of Allah and calls out: “Do not be sad, your Lord has made a stream flow just below you. Shake the date palm tree towards you so that fresh dates will be poured Tuesday you. Eat, drink, keep an eye on yourself. If you see one of the people, you will say, ‘I have dedicated my silence to the Most Merciful. Say, ’I’m not going to talk to anyone today!” (Mary, 19/23-26)

These statements indicate that the event was planned by Allah.It’s pointed out that Hz.Maryam was not alone and that she was protected by Allah. Allah said to Hz.Maryam “You don’t have to tell your environment anything about the child. It is our responsibility to respond to criticism in this regard.”

With this moral support, Hazrat Maryam could now take her child in her arms and go to her people. So she did. However, it happened to her that she was afraid, and society reproached her in the worst way. They said, “O Maryam! You’ve done something very ugly! O Aaron’s sister, your father was not a bad person. And your mother wasn’t lewd.” (Mary, 19/27-28) Whereupon Hazrat Mahdi (as) will appear. Hazrat Maryam pointed to the baby.

The people around her said, “How do we talk to the baby in the crib? The baby Jesus came to the tongue and said, “Verily, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Book and has made me a prophet. He has made me blessed and virtuous wherever I am. He ordered me to pray and pay the zakat as long as I lived. He made me respect my mother. It didn’t make me a horny bully. Peace be upon me on the day of my birth, on the day of my death, and on the day of my resurrection.”

Almighty Allah, entering into the word, emphasizes the main theme to us as follows: “This is Jesus, the son of Maryam, about whom they doubt. It is unthinkable that Allah will have children. Glory be to Allah, it is far from this (assertion). When he rules a business, he just says, ‘Be!’he says, ‘and it happens.” (Mary, 19/34-35)

This event was presented to humanity as a historical fact, a miracle and a document in a style that reveals the power and might of Allah in the days when Jesus was born, so that Christians who will deviate from denial with the claim that “Jesus is the son of Allah” in the future will not attempt this slander that even cracks the heavens.

Hz.Maryam is an example of chastity and patience in the Islamic world.

Hz.Meryem’in İslamiyetteki Önemi

Hz.Meryem dünyaya geldiğinde Zekeriya (a.s), Allah Teâlâ tarafından onun bakım ve gözetimi ile görevlendirildi. Buna rağmen Hz.Meryem, harikulade bir şekilde kendisine temel ihtiyaç maddeleri gönderilerek Allah tarafından rızıklandırıldı. (Âl-i İmrân, 33-37) Küçüklüğünden itibaren Zekeriya (a.s)’nın mescidinde kendini ibadete veren Hz. Meryem, Allah’ın özel olarak seçtiği, ruhunu temizlediği ve kulluğuna davet ettiği has kullarındandır (Âl-i İmrân, 42-43).

İnsanlardan uzak bir şekilde mescitte hususi bir odaya kapanan Hz. Meryem’e Allah Teâlâ bir gün, Cebrail’i (a.s) gönderir. Hz. Meryem, kendisine insan suretinde görünen Cebrail’den korkar ve bir kötülük etmesinden Allah’a sığınır. Cebrail (a.s), olayın iç yüzünü açıklayarak, Allah’ın elçisi olduğunu ve bir çocuk müjdelemek için gönderildiğini belirtir. Bunun üzerine Hz. Meryem şaşkınlık içerisinde, “Bana hiçbir insan dokunmadığı ve iffetsiz bir kadın olmadığım halde benim nasıl çocuğum olabilir?” diye haykırır. Cebrail (a.s) de bu seslenişe şöyle cevap verir: “Evet öyle. Rabbim diyor ki: o benim için çok kolaydır. Onu insanlara bir mucize, katımızdan bir rahmet kılmak için böyle takdir ettik. Bu, zaten (ezelde) hükme bağlanmış bir iştir.” (Meryem, 19/16-21; Âli-İmrân, 3/45-47

Böylece Hz. Meryem, Hz. İsa’ya hamile kalır. Çevresi tarafından töhmetle karşılanacak olan bu durumun izahı mümkün değildir. Bunun için, artık mescitten de ayrılıp, herkesten uzak bir yere çekilmeyi tercih eder. (Meryem, 19/22) Artık toplumdan uzak bir yerde yaşayan Hz. Meryem, hamilelik günlerini sürdürürken doğum sancıları başlayınca, oracıktaki bir hurma ağacının altına sığınır.

Doğum sancılarıyla birlikte töhmet korkuları da o kadar artmıştır ki, bu endişe ona, “keşke bundan önce ölseydim de unutulup gitmiş olsaydım” dedirtmiştir. Bu noktada Cebrail (a.s), Allah’ın emriyle imdadına koşar ve seslenir: “Üzülme, Rabbin senin hemen altında bir dere akıttı. Hurma ağacını kendine doğru salla ki sana taze hurma dökülsün. Ye, iç, gözün aydın olsun. Şayet insanlardan birini görecek olursan, ‘ben Rahman’a susmayı adadım. Bu gün hiçbir kimseyle konuşmayacağım’ de!” (Meryem, 19/23-26) Bu ifadeler, olayın Allah tarafından planlandığına, ayrıca Hz. Meryem’in yalnız olmadığına ve Allah tarafından korunup gözetildiğine işaret ediyordu. Bir bakıma Hz. Meryem’e, “çocukla ilgili çevrene bir şey söylemen gerekmez. Bu konuda eleştirilere cevap verme sorumluğu bize aittir” denmiş oluyordu. Böylelikle Meryem’in içine az da olsa soğuk su dökülmüş oluyordu.

Hz. Meryem, artık bu manevi destekle, kucağına çocuğunu alıp kavminin yanına gidebilirdi. Öyle yaptı. Ne var ki korktuğu başına geldi ve toplum onu en kötü şekilde ayıpladı. Dediler ki: “Ey Meryem! Çok çirkin bir şey yaptın! Ey Harun’un kız kardeşi, senin baban kötü bir kimse değildi. Annen de iffetsiz değildi.” (Meryem, 19/27-28) Bunun üzerine Hz. Meryem, bebeği işaret etti. Neler olup bittiğini ona sorun, demek istiyordu.

Etrafındaki insanlar, “Beşikteki bebekle nasıl konuşuruz?” deyince, bebek İsa lisana geldi ve dedi ki: “Şüphesiz ben Allah’ın kuluyum. (Rabbim) bana Kitab’ı (İncil’i) verdi ve beni peygamber kıldı. Nerede olursam olayım beni kutlu ve erdemli kıldı. Yaşadığım sürece bana, namazı ve zekâtı emretti. Beni anneme saygılı kıldı. Beni azgın bir zorba yapmadı. Doğduğum gün, öleceğim gün ve diriltileceğim gün bana selâm (esenlik verilmiştir).” Beşikte konuşturulan yavrunun sözlerinden sonra, Cenab-ı Hakk söze girerek asıl temayı bizlere şöyle vurguluyor: “Hakkında şüpheye düştükleri Meryem oğlu İsa işte budur. Allah’ın çocuk edinmesi düşünülemez. Allah yücedir, bu (iddia)dan uzaktır. Bir işe hükmettiği zaman ona sadece ‘ol!’ der, o da oluverir.” (Meryem, 19/34-35)

Allah Teâlâ, bu ayetlerle, Hz. İsa’nın babasız olarak dünyaya geldiğini, toplumun gözü önünde kimsenin inkâr edemeyeceği bir şekilde ortaya koydu. Bu olay, ileride “İsa Allah’ın oğludur” iddiasıyla inkârcılığa sapacak olan Hıristiyanların, gökleri bile çatlatan bu iftiraya yeltenmemeleri için, daha İsa’nın doğduğu günlerde, Allah’ın güç ve kudretini ortaya koyan bir tarzda, tarihi bir gerçek, bir mucize ve belge olarak insanlığa sunulmuştur.

Hz.Meryem islam dünyasına bir iffet ve sabır örneğidir.
