Dhul Hijjah

The month of Dhul Hijjah is one of the holiest periods of the Islamic year, SubhanAllah. A month of increased spirituality, we witness two very special events (Hajj and Eid ul Adha) – all in devotion to Allah (SWT).

Many people don’t know that the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are better than all the other days of the year, the ten best days with no exception. They are even better than the days of Ramadan, SubhanAllah!

Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him)said;

There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days

Our hearts and prayers are with those undertaking the holy pilgrimage of Hajj during these days. While many of us are unable to make the blessed journey this year, there are still many ways for us to reap the blessings of this month.

According to many scholars of the Qur’an, the days mentioned as significant enough for Allah to swear by them are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

Whoever is not able to go to Hajj should use this blessed time to complete even more righteous deeds than usual. These can include anything such as giving charity, honouring one’s parents, upholding the ties of kinship, and enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil.

It is also important to enhance our obligatory acts of worship by being mindful of our prayers and ensuring we pay our zakat on this time.

For those of us who have not yet completed the pilgrimage of Hajj, this is an ideal time to make Du’a that Allah grants us the opportunity to do so soon. Fasting and remembrance are particularly recommended.

The ten days of Dhul-Hijjah include Yawm al-Arafah (the Day of Arafah), on which Allah perfected His Religion.

Inside the Kaaba

The inside of the Kaaba is an open space adorned with marble, textiles, and historical artefacts. The floor is covered with white marble, bordered by black, while the walls feature rose-coloured marble up to a height of four meters, with green cloth inscribed with Quranic verses extending to the ceiling. Historical inscriptions from various rulers are embedded in the walls, alongside lanterns and incense burners hanging from the ceiling. Three wooden pillars support the roof, and the area includes markers commemorating where the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prayed and supplicated. The Kaaba also houses a staircase leading to the roof.

The internal floor of the Kaaba is covered with white marble, bordered by a black marble strip.

The internal walls are covered with rose-coloured marble up to a height of about 4 meters. This marble is fixed in such a way that it does not come into contact with the original walls of the Kaaba. Above this marble, the walls are covered with green cloth extending 5 metres up to the roof. These textiles are adorned with Quranic verses inscribed in silver, extending to cover the entire ceiling of the Kaaba.

On the walls, 10 marble stones bear inscriptions commemorating architectural contributions to Masjid al-Haram by past rulers. Nine of these are in Thuluth script, while one is scripted in prominent Kufic. The last document, placed by King Fahd of Saudi Arabia concerning his mosque expansion, was added to the eastern wall.

A number of lanterns and incense burners, tracing their origins back to the Ottoman era, hang from the ceiling. These are crafted from copper, silver, and glass and are adorned with Quranic verses. These lanterns were gifted to the Kaaba by caliphs, sultans, princes, and kings over the ages.

Made from the highest quality of silk and embroidered with silver and gold thread, Kiswah has a long and rich history. From a white cloth with red stripes to an all-white cloth to a green one and finally, a black coloured one, the colours of Kiswah have changed over time. The primary purpose of the Kiswah is to protect and honour the holiest and most sacred place in Islam.

From the wooden pillars supporting the roof to the golden, silver lamps, calligraphy on the walls, and the golden door, the interior of the Kaaba is a sight every Muslim must see. If you wish to pray inside the Holy Kaaba, pray two Rakaats inside the Hateem as it is also a part of the Holy Kaaba.

Umrah in Hadiths

The prophet(pbuh) said: ”Voyage is to these three masjids only for worship: Masjid al-Haram, Masjid an-Nabawi and Masjid al-Aqsa”

”The performers of the hajj and umrah are the guests of Allah. If they pray to Him, He will respond, if they ask forgiveness, He will forgive.”

When the Prophet(pbuh) was asked whether umrah is obligatory(wajib)He replied ”No but it is better for you if you perform umrah”

”Alternate between hajj and umrah. Because hajj and umrah rid one of poverty and minor sins just as the blacksmith’s bellows remove all impuruties from metals like iron, gold and silver.”

Hajar al-Asvad and Maqam al-Ibrahim are among the jewels descended from the heaven. Allah(s.w.t) is like prayer. Yet, you may speake during this ritual. Then whoever speaks during circumambulation, let him speak only what is good.

No Muslim utters talbiyah but that whatever stones, trees and mud on his both right and left utter talbiyah with him, as far as the land is cut from here and there.

Umrah during Ramadan al-sharif is comparable to hajj (in another account, to a hajj performed with the Prophet.

Aishe(r.a)narrates; The Prophet(pbuh) said”Circumambulating the house of Allah, performing Sa’y between Safa and Marwah and stoning the devil have been ordained to dhikr Allah(swt)

Whoever visits me in Medina, expecting its reward from Allah(swt) I will be his witness and intercessor on the day of judgment.

Benefits of Salawat

Benefits and Why You Should Recite The Salawat

According to hadiths, there are 5 main benefits of reciting the Salawat:

  1. By reciting the salawat or the prayer once, Inshallah that Allah will record your benevolence and goodwill by rewarding you with ten good deeds in return on your record (HR. Ahmad).
  2. Reciting the salawat once, Allah will bless him with ten blessings and remove from him ten sins (HR. Ahmad).
  3. By doing so, Allah will bless him with ten blessings, remove from him ten sins and raise his rank by ten degrees (HR. An Nasa’i).
  4. Reciting the salawat will gain you the Prophet’s intercession and blessing. The person most entitled to the Prophet’s intercession on the Day of Resurrection is the one who prays and recite the salawat for the Prophet the most (HR. Tirmidzi)
  5. Finally, reciting the salawat will bring you closer to the Prophet, especially if recited during Fridays. As it is also historically shown that the prayers for the Prophet’s people are shown to him every Friday. Whoever prays the most, then he is the person who is closest in position to the Prophet.

The Paradise of Our Mothers

The Messenger of Allah (saas) said: ” Paradise is at the feet of mothers.” I mean, our mothers’ paradise.. Our Lord has laid the blessing of heaven at the feet of mothers. It is an important lesson for us that our Allah loves mothers so much.

Let’s not offend or upset our mothers, knowing the mortality of the world. If we are upset, let’s ask for forgiveness and ask for halal. Let’s find out before it’s too late, before we lose them. Our mothers are our most precious asset.

Mothers are the manifestations of the most beautiful names of our God on us. Those servants who know their value are very valuable in the sight of Allah.

Let’s give our love to our mothers, who consume their youth, time, health for us, provide material and moral support. Let’s not send them to nursing homes while we can. Let us not forget that divine justice can find us on the occasion of our sons after thirty years.

Hz. Aysha (ra) sees a man carrying his mother on his back in the courtyard of the Kaaba. The man carries his mother with great excitement and makes a circumnavigation. The Prophet who sees the view. Aysha (ra) asks our Prophet (saas), “Has this man paid for his mother’s right by doing this?”
Hz. The Prophet (saas) says “No”.
“He has not even paid for the pain of the woman who gave birth to him,” he says.

May Allah not separate our mothers from us, and have mercy on the mothers who have passed away..

İyi ki Doğdun Ya Rasulallah

Sofra.. Etrafında Allah Resullerin dizildiği sofra.. Ve bu sofrada başköşe… Sen!

Love in Islam

“O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion – Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers…” (Quran 5: 54). Many people are unaware of the value of Love in Islam. Love is a beautiful emotion that brings joy to the heart. Here are some Quranic verses and hadiths about “Love”.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasizes the importance of the love of Allah “O my Rabb! Grant me Your love, the love of those whom You love, and the love of those deeds that will make me earn Your love. And make Your love in my sight dearer than the cold water desired by a person with a raging thirst” ( Al Tirmidhi) . In this subject, a man once asked the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): “When will the Hour (of the Day of Judgment) be established?” The Prophet replied: “What have you prepared for it?” The man said: “I haven’t prepared for it very much (by way) of prayers or fasting or charitable giving, but I love God and His Apostle.” The Prophet then said: “You will be with those you love.” (Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidthi)

The first characteristic of believers is that Allah will love them and they will love Allah. “O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion – Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers…” (Quran 5: 54)

Allah will ask on the Day of Judgment: “Where are those who loved each other for the sake of My glory? Today, on a day when there is no shade but Mine, I shall shade them with My shade.” (Muslim). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) added: “There are people from the servants of God who are neither prophets nor martyrs, (but) the prophets and martyrs will envy them on the Day of Resurrection. They are those who love one another for the spirit of God. . .I swear by God, their faces will glow and they will be (sitting) in (pulpits of) light. They will have no fear (on the day) when the people will have fear, and they will not grieve when the people will grieve.” He then recited the verse: “Behold! Verily for the friends of God, there is no fear, nor shall they grieve.” (Quran, 10:6

Hadithes About Salat

Abu Hurairah narrated that :Allah’s Messenger said: “Indeed for (the time of) Salat (there is a) beginning and an end. The beginning of the time for the Zuhr prayer is when the sun passes the zenith, and the end of its time is when the time for Asr enters. The beginning of the time for the Asr [prayer] is when its time enters, and the end of its time is when the sun yellows (turns pale). The beginning of the time of Maghrib is when the sun as set, and the end of its time is when the twilight has vanished (i.e., the horizon is invisible because of darkness). The beginning of the time for Isha, the later one, is when the horizon has vanished, and the end of its time is when the night is at its half. The beginning of the time for Fajr is when Fajr begins, and its end is when the sun rises.”

Abu Dharr narrated that :the Prophet said: “O Abu Dharr! There will be leaders after me who cause the Salat to die; so perform the Salat during its time. If you pray (with them) during its time, then that will be voluntary Salat for you, if not, then you will have attained your Salat.”

Ibn Abbas narrated:”The Prophet only performed the two rak’ah (units of prayer) after Asr because some wealth came to him which distracted him from the two rak’ah after Zuhr, so he prayed them after Asr, then he did not repeat that.”

Hadithes

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said:Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says: Fasting is Mine and it is I who give reward for it. [A man] gives up his sexual passion, his food and his drink for my sake. Fasting is like a shield, and he who fasts has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. The change in the breath of the mouth of him who fasts is better in Allah’s estimation than the smell of musk. It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim, Malik, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah).

On the authority of Abu Harayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said:Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: Spend (on charity), O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you. It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim).

On the authority of son of Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), among the sayings he related from his Lord (glorified and exalted be He) is that He said:Allah has written down the good deeds and the bad ones. Then He explained it [by saying that] he who has intended a good deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as from ten good deeds to seven hundred times, or many times over. But if he has intended a bad deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed. It was related by al-Bukhari and Muslim.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: Pride is my cloak and greatness My robe, and he who competes with Me in respect of either of them I shall cast into Hell-fire. It was related by Abu Dawud (also by Ibn Majah and Ahmad) with sound chains of authority. This Hadith also appears in Muslim in another version.
